This sumptuous, rich, complex Margaux reveals a fragrant nose of cedarwood, spring flowers, spice box, black currants and earth. Medium to full-bodied with silky tannins and a dense, plum/ruby/purple color, this fully mature 2003 can be enjoyed over the next 5-6 years.

Mid garnet. Aromas jump out of the glass, perhaps a little volatile. Slightly odd on the palate, with some green notes. Dry and woody. (JH)
Dark, charred and sweet. Rather full and bloody. Certainly not charming. A bit of yeast extract. Very thick roasted fruit and tannins. (Average group score: 15.1) (JR)

With vines spread across 40 different parcels throughout the appellation, Ch. Lascombes is one of the most fragmented but also largest Médoc estates, with 120 hectares of vines, now owned by the MACSF insurance company.
