Tasting notes
Smoky and savoury. Dry, firm and lovely savoury long finish. Rich, full but balanced and finishes fresh. Still quite a marked grip. Wait. (JH)

A dense ruby/purple color is followed by sweet aromas of ripe black fruits. Not a blockbuster, Silval's 2000 is a full-bodied, elegant, soft, fleshy, accessible effort that should reach full maturity in 5-7 years, and last for 15-18. Importer: William Grant and Sons, Edison, NJ; tel. (732) 225-9000
Lighter colour than 22 though very respectable deep crimson. Sweet start to the palate. Not massive intensity in the middle though no shortage of tannins (maybe slightly of acidity) on the finish. A rather truncated wine. Rich and pruney for earlier drinking. Dry finish. (JR)
Saturated bright ruby. Very ripe, musky aromas of black cherry, dark chocolate and spices. Thick, rich, pliant and sweet; approachable already owing to its creamy, concentrated fruit. Not a hugely gripping port but rich and balanced, with generous flavor and solid structure. Hints of chocolate and mocha in the mouth and on the aftertaste. Finishes with lush, spreading tannins and sneaky, building length.
