Tasting Notes
This wine has consistently given me considerable pleasure, yet the wine still has a surprising vitality and youthfulness. The color remains a deep, dark ruby with some lightening at the edge. The nose offers up floral scents intermixed with aromas of licorice, truffles, cedar, and peppery black fruits. This medium-bodied wine possesses excellent, nearly outstanding concentration. It has come a long way in resolving some of its tannic bite. Although it will never be exceptional, this has been a consistently excellent wine that is still improving. Anticipated maturity: Now-2005. Last tasted 10/97. Jan 1998, www.robertparker.com
