Score 93/100 · Drink 2017-2026, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Nov 2015

Tasted from magnum, the 2006 Brut Fleuron (Magnum) has quite a bit more freshness and citrus-inflected cut than the same wine from bottle. Here the flavors are bright and finely cut, with plenty of floral overtones and a generally reticent, tightly-wound personality. There is a lot to like, but the magnums are going to need at least a few more years to show at their best. Vineyard sources are 36% Chouilly, 39% Cramant, 17% Cuis and 8% Oger. Dosage is 4.5 grams/liter. Disgorged: May 2015.

Light gold. High-pitched, mineral-tinged citrus zest and green apple aromas are complemented by suggestions of anise and white flowers. Lithe and focused on the palate, offering nervy orchard fruit and Meyer lemon flavors that gain depth and open up with air. Spicy, racy and focused on the finish, leaving notes of pear and honeysuckle in its wake. Disgorged in January, 2014.

The 2006 Brut Fleuron bursts from the glass with an exotic mélange of aromas and flavors. Mango, lychee, spices, mint and lightly honeyed notes race across the palate in a flashy, extroverted Champagne loaded with personality. Hints of white truffle and orange peel add the final nuances. Disgorged January 2014. Dosage is 5 grams per liter.

Intense golden yellow in color, the 2006 Cuvée Fleuron 1er Cru from 100% Chardonnay offers a deep, rich and complex aroma of ripe apples, quinces and other autumn fruits. Full-bodied, rich and intense on the palate, this excellent Champagne is also very pure, elegant, fine and well balanced and finishes with a stunningly intense and ripe aroma of ripe apples. This is not only a real character but also a great value Champagne.
