Haut-Marbuzet's penchant for using 100% new oak works great in top years such as 1990, 1989, and 1982, but in 1992, the wood dominates the wine. The excessively oaky 1992 displays a deep, concentrated ruby color, a spicy, plummy, oaky bouquet, medium-bodied, soft flavors, above average depth, low acidity, and a supple finish. Precocious and ostentatious, to an extreme in this vintage, it is best consumed in its first 6-7 years of life.
