Dark crimson. Toasty nose and sweet, relatively supple fruit with a hint of treacly leather and some succulence. Third favourite of the flight by group average. (JR)

Very sweet, fruity, ripe black fruits’ nose then a bit austere, slightly green finish. More Merlot-dominated than its stablemate Boyd Cantenac. A relatively simple wine for quite early drinking. Light to medium weight. Slightly stringy. (JR)

Dark ruby in color, with lots of concentrated fruit, dark chocolate and hints of game. Full-bodied, with loads of fruit and wild mushroom character. Long, velvety, smoky and decadent. Best after 2014. 3,330 cases made. James Suckling, Wine Spectator 2008
