The Bertani 1994 Amarone della Valpolicella is faded and leans into oxidized aromas of teriyaki, smoked jerky, campfire ash, dusty terracotta, forest floor and dried porcini mushroom. The wine stands out for its inky dark appearance, medium-thick texture and very open-knit personality. You taste the sandy texture of the tannins. There is a sweet note of dried apricot or prune on the close.
