Score 87/100 · Drink 2018-2024, Neal Martin, May 2018
The 2008 Haut Bages Liberal has a fresh, vivacious bouquet with red cherries and crushed strawberry fruit that are detailed and focused. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannin, a little conservative in style and easy drinking, with a light, slightly attenuated finish. Tasted blind at Farr Vintners’ 10-Year On tasting.

Tasted blind. Dark crimson with purple hints. Light and fresh. A bit chewy. Savoury and ambitious, with good drive. Quite long. (JR)

Mid crimson still with some blue. Fresh and interesting. Appetising scent. Lively. Very smooth and polished and ready. Not a long-distance runner but easy. Very clean and fresh. (JR)
