Deep honeyed straw. Subtle, minerally, cool, putty sort of aromas. Very savoury and complex on the nose and then quite rich and broad on the palate. Lip-smacking. (JR)

50% Pinot Noir, 50% Chardonnay. Tasted blind. Greenish gold. Very sweet and firm on the nose – Veuve Clicquot? Moët? A bit astringent. Solid. Doesn’t really follow through. Some bruised-apple character in the middle but not an ethereal whole. Ticks boxes. (JR)
Pungent, soft, Pinot-like and sweetish. Easy to drink but not very challenging though it certainly isn’t too fizzy. (JR)
Very fresh. Light nose then rich fruit on the palate. Broad yet zesty and just slightly too sweet? Still a bit chewy. (JR)
