(100% mencia, raised in large Austrian and French oak casks for 12 months): Bright violet color. Sexy, intensely perfumed aromas of candied dark berries, licorice, Asian spices, olive and violet, plus a smoky mineral overtone. If Dujac made a Cote-Rotie it would smell like this. Sappy, penetrating blackberry and bitter cherry flavors are complemented by allspice, star anise and floral pastilles. Finishes sweet and extremely long, with silky tannins adding shape and grip.
