Tasting Notes
Toasted nuts, bread and hints of wildflowers and sage on the nose. Now showing mushroom and truffle, too. It's complex and lightly earthy, complementing the nutty aromas. Fine, creamy and well-integrated. Delicious finish. 100% chardonnay. Disgorged 2010 and aged under crown cap. 4.7g/L dosage. Drink or hold.

Drunk from magnum from the original disgorgement, Péters's 2002 Brut Blanc de Blancs Cuvée Spéciale Les Chétillons is showing beautifully, offering up aromas of crisp yellow orchard fruit, brioche, fresh hazelnuts and tangerine oil, followed by a medium to full-bodied, fleshy and enveloping palate that's exceptionally pure and charming, its vibrant core of fruit animated by a pillowy mousse.
The 2002 Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Cuvée Spéciale Les Chétillons, from one of the top sites in Mesnil, positively explodes on the palate. Layers of ripe fruit lead to smoke, minerals and ash in this opulent, full-bodied Champagne. The 2002 Chétillons is painfully young at this stage but its class and sheer pedigree are impossible to miss. This is a fabulous, breathtaking Champagne from Pierre Peters. The Chėtillons is made from three parcels with vines ranging from 35 to 68 years of age. This is Lot LSBACO2, disgorged: April, 2010.
