Score 93/100 · Drink 2025-2029, Kristaps Karklins, Wine Advocate, May 2025

Produced entirely from the 2016 vintage and disgorged with a dosage of three grams per liter, Lahaye’s NV Rosé de Macération underwent a three-day maceration before pressing, followed by maturation in barrel and amphora. A success in a year fraught with mildew pressure, this wine emerges with vivid aromas of redcurrant, cranberry, pink grapefruit and spice. Medium- to full-bodied, it is flavorful yet racy, with bright acidity and bitter, structuring phenolics that express themselves on the long, mineral finish.

100% Pinot Noir. Base 2019. Dosage 3 g/l. Disgorged January 2023. Smells like wine spilled on a cement floor – served too cold, perhaps? Neutral, correct, if without much to go by. An outline of strawberries and maybe a touch of chipotle. But there is a hole in the middle and a short finish. These Lahaye wines don't seem to be showing terribly well today. (TC)

The NV Brut Rosé de Maceration (I tasted from Lot 33110213) is based on a shortly macerated Bouzy Pinot Noir from the 2010 vintage. Bottled in June 2011 and disgorged with an extra-brut dosage of three grams per liter in January 2013, this is a round, fruit intense and well structured Rosé Champagne with a mouth-filling, sweet cherry flavor and a long and refreshingly mineral finish. It's excellent to enjoy for itself but also with lighter food dishes.

Based on 2011 vintage. Dosage 3 g/l. Quite an intense pale tomato colour. Not much nose. A little soft and low in acidity. Round and almost like a southern French wine with the addition of a tiny amount of carbon dioxide. (JR)
