Very deep crimson and postively agricultural nose! Supple texture. For the moment distinctly stodgy and old-fashioned but undeniably serious. Needs time – lots of it. So thick you feel you could slice it with a knife. (JR)

The medium to dark ruby-colored 1999 Nuits-St.-Georges Les St.-Georges has blackberry, currant, and rosemary aromas. Rich, ample, and firm, it is a cherry, blackberry, and raspberry-flavored wine. This medium-bodied offering has loads of fruit that envelop its firmly tannic structure. Drink it between 2006 and 2012+. Importer: Vineyard Brands, Birmingham, AL; tel. (205) 980-8802.
