Medium red. The 1999 Barbaresco displays notes of leather, cocoa, and spices on the nose, along with modest amounts of sweet dark fruit with good length. It offers better balance, though less overall expressiveness than the Asili and should drink well to age 15. A Casa Vinicola Bruno Giacosa bottling.
