Tasting notes
Bright purple. Smoky, peppery aromas of fresh dark berries, licorice and musky herbs, with a subtle hint of olive in the background. Juicy and refreshingly bitter on the palate, displaying blackcurrant and cherry-vanilla flavors and a touch of cracked pepper. Shows an appealing blend of fruitiness and structure, finishing with strong cut and smooth, even tannins that add grip.

The straight 2011 Saint Joseph is rock solid, with plenty of black olive, underbrush, gamey meat and ripe blackberry fruit that’s paired up with a rich, medium-bodied and textured feel on the palate. Showing good acidity and solid length, enjoy it over the coming 5-7 years. Importer: Alain Junguenet, Wines of France, Mountainside, NJ; Tel. (908) 654-6173
