Haut-Batailley's 1991 is a far more interesting, complete wine than the light, supple, diluted 1992. The 1991 exhibits attractive berry fruit aromas, good ripeness, medium body, and moderate tannin in the finish. The only danger is that the fruit may dry out before the tannin melts away. Drink it over the next 5-7 years.

The Cazes family – owners of Lynch-Bages and Ormes de Pez – purchased Haut-Batailley in 2017. They’ve embarked on a significant replanting programme, and exciting things are likely to come from this address with its new backing.
