Score 16/20 · Drink 2011-2016, Jancis Robinson MW, Aug 2007
10,500 bottles produced. 100% Merlot from gravely clay soils. Mid crimson. Quite opulent on the nose though a firm spine. Chewy. Then very sandy dry tannins on the finish. Far from charming. Very dry and severe in fact. Austere though quite persistent finish. (JR)

About the producer

l'Eglise Clinet
Ch. l'Eglise-Clinet is one of the most unassuming wine estates in Bordeaux. You'd probably drive past it if you didn't have prior knowledge of its vinous output. There's no ostentatious gateway nor sweeping gravel drive.
