Tasting notes
Mid gold. Round, nutty and savoury. Lots of substance and chew in the mouth. Yet with a certain Meursault-like gloss to it. I don't think there is a mad rush to drink this. It has excellent acidity and is very dry rather than sweet. Rather different from and superior to the Mâcon norm. Serious stuff and worth the money. My drinking dates may be conservative. (JR)

The 2012 Mâcon Milly Lamartine has a pretty, floral bouquet with touches of yellow flowers and even a hint of acacia honey. The palate is crisp on the entry with bright grapefruit and citrus notes, fine acidity with a tightly wound finish that probably needs another year in bottle.
Half the usual quantity because of poor flowering. Served after the Montrachet from very cold bottles but stood up reasonably well. Simple but lots of density and life. No sweetness! (JR)
