Tasting notes
The estate's 2009 Solengo bursts from the glass with blackberries, ash, grilled herbs, licorice and new leather. This blend of 30% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Petit Verdot and 20% Syrah aged in French oak fared much better in 2009 than the 100% Sangiovese Suolo . All the elements flow together gracefully in this soft, voluptuous wine. The finessed, silky tannins elevate the 2009 even further. This is a terrific showing from Argiano.
