Score 89/100 · Drink 2003-2012, Robert Parker, Apr 2003
A sleeper of the vintage, the 2000 Plaisance exhibits a dense ruby/plum color along with plenty of spice, sweet, delicious black cherry and raspberry fruit intermixed with some underbrush, dried herbs and licorice. It is medium to full-bodied, soft, plush, and ideal for near-term consumption. Anticipated maturity: now-2012.

Good medium ruby. Expressive, superripe aromas of black cherry, licorice and espresso, lifted by a floral aspect. Dense, rich flavors of black and red fruits and bitter chocolate. Today the toothcoating tannins come across as rather tough and in need of refinement.
