A sexy style of wine from the Pomerol-St.-Emilion border, Corbin’s 2005 exhibits a dense ruby/plum/purple color, lots of raspberry and blueberry fruit, soft tannin, and a velvety, opulent mouthfeel. Drink it over the next decade.

Perfumed and very ripe but not overripe dark fruit assails you from the glass. Ripe damson. Then surprisingly dry on the palate and much less expressive. Finishes a bit hard. (JH)

Dark healthy crimson. Very rich and smooth on the nose. Quite opulent. Some freshness – not attempting to break any world records but a good lively drink. Readable and easy to like. Great balance but easy to overlook. Wonderful length. Much much more impressive than when tasted en primeur. (JR)
