Score 86/100 · Drink 2016-2025, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Mar 2017

Tasted at Château Rauzan-Gassies. The 2005 Croizet Bages, a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc, has a light, slightly herbaceous bouquet that is quite leafy and austere. The palate is medium-bodied with a pointed, spicy entry. There is a sweet core of mulberry and red plum fruit with a leafy veneer, moderate length and quite austere on the saline finish. Drink now and over the next 5-8 years. Tasted June 2015.

Tasted blind. Frank, sweet Cabernet nose with just a touch of rawness. Fine tannins and quite refreshing. (JR)

Very herbaceous nose, verging on green. Not green on the palate but very very leafy and surprising for this vintage. (JH)
