Score 87-88/100 · Drink 2014-2021, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, May 2014
Barthod's 2011 Bourgogne is a serious wine. A beautifully textured wine at this level, the 2011 impresses for its persistence and balance. This is an excellent choice for drinking over the next few years, while the dark red fruit retains its attractive freshness and minerality.

Mid crimson. Lots there. You really wouldn't be surprised to learn that this was a Chambolle. As usual this is a banker of the vintage – if the term banker has not become too demonised. Well done – great structure. (JR)
