Rather exotic aromas of apple, apricot and honey, with a suggestion of dried fruits. Sweet but a bit aggressive, with an almost liqueur-like quality to the apricot flavor. Comes across as somewhat disjointed today, owing to rather pronounced acidity and substantial vanillin oak that gives the finish a dry edge.

Fresh peach complemented by hazelnut, oatmeal and honey; very typical of this premier cru. Sweet, supple and fat, with rather easygoing, round flavors. Firm acids give this a slight sweet/sour aspect. A bit less pure and gripping than the Charmes. Left behind an aroma of creme brulee in the empty glass.
Tight on the nose. Dry, tight and citrussy on the palate. Sustained but lightish finish. (JH)

Bouchard Père & Fils is one of Burgundy’s oldest and most established wine producers. Founded in 1731 by Michel Bouchard, it is the largest vineyard owner in the Côte d’Or with 130 hectares of vines.
