Score 16/20 · Drink 1980-2008, Jancis Robinson MW, Sep 2011
This was the first vintage under Philippe Gasqueton of Calon-Ségur’s ownership. The bluest of the first five wines. Mid ruby with a crimson streak. Dense and firm with some sweetness at first and then a little dryness and veering towards acetic. Firm and respectable. Quite assertive finish. Marked acidity but still alive. (JR)
