This is one of the very best St.-Emilions of this vintage. Many wines became too ripe in the very late harvest of 1978, but L'Arrosee is extremely well structured and vinified. Dark ruby, with some amber at the edge, this wine has a deep, rich, ripe fruity, oaky bouquet that suggests a Medoc more than a St.-Emilion. On the palate, the wine is full bodied, concentrated, beefy, and long in the finish. It is a big, substantial wine. Anticipated maturity: Now-may be in decline. Last tasted, 1/85.

About the producer
Ch. l’Arrosée was a 9.5-hectare vineyard in Saint-Emilion. After the château was sold to Domaine Clarence Dillon (owners of Ch. Haut-Brion and Ch. la Mission Haut-Brion) in 2013, the wine was discontinued and the grapes are now used for Ch. Quintus.
