1970 Chianti Classico Riserva Il Poggio

The 1970 Chianti Classico Riserva Il Poggio has held up a bit better than the 1971, but it is headed in a similar direction. There is just enough depth to allow for another few years of good drinking. Vestiges of sweet pipe tobacco, dried flowers, game, coffee and dried autumn leaves linger on the delicate finish. I like this better than the 1971.
