Pumpovers limited from 2011 to retain fruit. Early growing season and a cold but not wet summer. Good autumn. Dark purplish crimson. Hint of tobacco leaves. Racy and just a little bit of dry leafiness. A bit austere. Fast fade. (JR)

Vineyard encépagement: 84% Merlot, 9% Petit Verdot, 7% Cabernet Sauvignon. Chocolatey dark fruit. Very ripe, almost too ripe. But there's plenty of freshness and juice on the palate. Just a little extreme on finish. (JH)

Ripe, friendly style, with creamed blueberry and red cherry notes mixed with a dash of spice on the finish. Just enough chalk to keep to it honest, too. James Molesworth, WineSpectator.com
