Score 88+/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous
Moderately saturated medium red. Redcurrant, plum, smoky oak and a sweetly vegetal whiff of V8 on the nose. Similar flavors in the mouth are rather suave and insinuating. Acids and tannins are in balance, but this very youthful wine needs aging. Finishes long and subtle, with a smoky nuance. Perhaps not quite up to the quality of the '94, but a complex wine with excellent potential.
