Tasting notes
The 2010 White Blend is a Chenin Blanc-based blend complemented by Grenache Blanc, Marsanne and Roussanne raised for one year in old 225-liter Burgundy barrels with minimal use of sulphur. The nose is well defined and very natural with scents of honeycomb, wax resin and dried fruits. The palate is well balanced with good acidity, and vibrant flavours of walnut and bitter lemon leading to a very focused, fresh finish. Drink now-2017. Eben Sadie of Sadie Family Wines owns Sequillo Cellars but readers should be aware that it is a separate winery and the grapes are from a different source. The main difference is that there is not quite the same meticulous level of bunch sorting as practiced at Sadie Family, but that is reflected in their price and the wines represent exceptional value.
