The 1995 Bric del Fiasc, also tasted from a 5-liter bottle, presents fairly evolved aromas on the nose and modest amounts of fruit on a compact, somewhat austere frame. Although it shows plenty of freshness I just don't see there ever being enough fruit in this wine to balance its tannic structure. A recent 750ml bottle tasted at home showed similar qualities.

The 1995 Barolo Bric de Fiasc is backward, with scents of smoke, tar, soy, jammy black cherry and blackberry fruit, and pain grille. Full-bodied, concentrated, expansive, soft, and seductive, with 13.5% alcohol and moderate tannin in the finish, it should be drunk over the next 10-12 years. Good bright red. Fruitier, riper, more important aromas of cherry, raspberry and chocolate. Sweet and velvety in the mouth, with excellent concentration and impressive underlying structure. Shows more extract to support the tannins, which reach more of the mouth. Very strong juice.
