Slightly desiccated and drying out, but still showing notes of tobacco leaf, licorice and Asian spice, this medium-bodied 2003 is still intact, but it was undoubtedly better a few years ago.

Dark crimson. Exotically opulent, ripe nose. Not recognisable as Graves! Bloody, sweet, round at first but lacks vivacity. Rather furry finish. Hard work with little refreshment value – but may be just the ticket for palates without a preconception of what Graves should taste like. (JR)
