Since a new proprietor purchased this under-achieving estate there has been a noticeable increase in quality. While the 2006 is not a profound wine, it is a big improvement over past vintages. Its dark ruby color is accompanied by a medium-bodied wine displaying sweet notes of cocoa, coffee, white chocolate, and kirsch. This moderately-endowed, elegant, Burgundian-styled Pomerol should be drunk over the next 5-6 years.

Currant nose. Fresh, sweet and rich on the nose. Thick and not utterly lively but great density and very very Pomerol! (JR)
Very dark crimson. Sweet, rather gassy nose. Fine textured – is this being fined??? Not quite the most direct sample though certainly very sweet and quite modern. Not intense. Fades on the finish. (JR)
Very grapey aromas, with hints of meat and spice, follow through to a full body, with velvety tannins and a solid core of ripe fruit for the vintage. Well-structured and balanced. Best after 2012. 7,915 cases made.James Suckling, Wine Spectator 2009

Since insurance firm Generali purchased this estate in 2007, it has set out to overhaul the property and its reputation – starting with the vineyards – and the results speak for themselves.
