Tasting notes
Superficially charming, with a dark plum/ruby color, sweet berry and currant fruit as well as caramel and vanilla notes, this pleasant, easy-going 2003 is best consumed over the next 5-7 years.

Very deep crimson. Sweet violet perfume. Quite integrated components, but no great density. Serviceable, but could do with slightly more lift. Slightly foot-dragging. (JR)
Some cheesiness on the nose. Then furry oak tannins. The oak has been overdone here. Very hard work on the finish. Opaque for the moment though there is substance here. (JR)
About the producer

Since insurance firm Generali purchased this estate in 2007, it has set out to overhaul the property and its reputation – starting with the vineyards – and the results speak for themselves.
