All from in and around Leistenberg. Reductive and smoky nose. Extremely racy, with a broad spread of seductive flavours. Very precise and neat. Still with lots to give. Still a little chewy. (JR)

Grown on clay-based slate, the Tonschiefer is still shy on the nose, but exhibits gentle stone fruit on the palate. An alternative rendition of estate trocken this is a little more austere with a serious dusty expression reflecting its slatey provenance, but has enough freshness to make it an attractive proposition for future drinking.
