Tasting notes
This has supple and silky red fruits, gentle waves of tobacco, with an earthy finish. Ready to drink, plenty to enjoy. First bottle (during the tasting) corked, retried from a second bottle at home.

The 2005 Ferrière is a fruity, easy-going Margaux to drink now and over the next few years. Crushed flowers, sweet red berry fruit, dried herbs, iron and spice are all nicely lifted. Ferrière is a bit light, but it retains terrific freshness and has aged beautifully, even if it is not terribly complex. The tannins are a bit gritty, so I would not wait too long here, as that will only become more prominent over time.
Mid crimson with some development. Pretty hot and extracted on the nose. Sweet and rewarding even if a little jagged and lacklustre on the finish. (JR)
