Score 91/100 · Drink 2018-2021, Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW, Wine Advocate, May 2018

The 1998 La Chapelle de la Mission Haut-Brion is deep garnet-brick in color and very spicy on the nose, with sandalwood, baked cherries and spice cake with touches of underbrush and tapenade. Medium-bodied and velvety, it's fresh and spicy on the finish.

Zesty lively nose. Real energy and punch. Reverberates on the palate. Dry, as opposed to sickly, finish. (JR)
