1976 Riesling Vendange Tardive

Bright gold. High-toned aromas of mirabelle, fruit salad, white raisin and orange peel, along with a waxy aspect. Fat and a bit blowzy; lacks real clarity of flavor. ("This is less fresh than it was in the '90s," admits Hugel.) Shows a stony quality but seems to have lost its center. A bit aggressive on the end.
