Tasting notes
Score 88/100 · Robert Parker

A relatively elegant style of Pomerol, the 2000 Clos du Clocher exhibits a deep ruby/purple color and a sweet nose of minerals, caramel, black cherries, and hints of tobacco and spice box. The wine has medium to full body, a seductive, hedonistic mid-palate and flavors, with good fat and glycerin and surprisingly strong tannins in the finish. This is usually a wine to drink during its first 10-15 years of life, and that is probably true with the 2000, although this wine is more muscular than recent vintages have tended to be. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2018. Wine Advocate.April, 2003
