‘L’année palindrome’ according to the back label which, most unusually, gives us the assemblage (85% Merlot). Dark crimson. Animal nose and a lack of freshness. No purity of fruit here. (JR)

Rather dull crimson. Sweet and relatively simple. Rather awkward acidity and no hidden depths at all! Drying finish. (JR)
Deep red. Aromas of black plum, coffee, mocha, herbs and roasted oak. Juicy and tightly wound, with some raw herbal notes lurking underneath. Possesses sound balancing acidity but the tannins seem a bit dry.
Impressively fruity, but soft, short, shallow, and superficial, the deep plum/ruby-colored 2002 exhibits a perfumed bouquet of spice box, black cherries, plums, and new oak. A supple attack and attractive mid-palate are followed by a narrow finish with light to moderate tannin. Anticipated maturity: 2006-2015.
