Jacques Frederic Mugnier

Burgundy wine estate Domaine Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier has gained a huge reputation and a loyal collector following for producing some of the finest expressions of the Grands Crus of Bonnes-Mares and Musigny, and Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru Les Amoureuses.

Based in Chambolle-Musigny, the domaine was founded in 1863 by François “Frédéric” Mugnier, a successful liquor-maker in Dijon. Mugnier took advantage of the depressed prices of Burgundy’s vineyards following the phylloxera outbreak and bought just under 20 hectares of some of the finest vineyards in and around Chambolle-Musigny and Nuits-Saint-Georges, including the Ch.de Chambolle-Musigny.
