Hint of brett? Lacks freshness though there is tidy neat fruit. Very introvert! (JR)

A very reliable cru bourgeois from St.-Estephe, this wine exhibits notes of damp forest floor intermixed with excellent black cherry and black currant fruit. Some hints of camphor and truffle are also present in this medium to full-bodied, well-made wine. It should drink nicely for at least a decade. 60% Merlot, 27% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Cabernet Franc, 10% Petit Verdot. Deep plush crimson. Opulently ripe without being speciously sweet. Very complete and beautifully balanced without losing its communal identity. Well done. (JR)
