Bursting with aromas of blackberries, mulberries, dark chocolate and rich soil tones, the 2019 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Roncières is medium to full-bodied, fleshy and layered, built around velvety tannins and succulent acids. It will be well worth seeking out.

The 2019 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Roncières 1er Cru showed much more ripeness than the Les Bousselots and indicated some over-maturity, displaying prune-like scents and fig shrouding the red fruit. The palate is very concentrated and candied, offering pastille-like red fruit tinged with fig and raisin. This is one cuvée from the domaine that suggests an earlier picking would have been better.
