The 2015 Chateau Trois Moulins is another good value from the 2015 vintage. A blend of 52% Merlot, 33% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 15% Cabernet Franc that was brought up in 30% new oak, it has a perfumed style in its menthol, eucalyptus, forest floor, and black cherry-driven aromas and flavors. These carry to a pretty, elegant, beautifully balanced effort that’s already drinking nicely yet should keep for 7-8 years.

Tasted at the Cru Bourgeois annual tasting, the 2015 Chateau Trois Moulins was slightly acetic on the nose compared to others. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannin, a bit tough in the mouth with a dense and muscular finish. Hopefully it will evolve more elegance with bottle age, yet it still does not feel like a long-term proposition. Tasted September 2017.

40% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc. Mid crimson, edgy and a rather strange mix of greenness and sweetness. Correct but it doesn't sing. Stodgy. (JR)
