Tasting notes
The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Leopoldina Vineyard is a powerful, voluptuous wine. Dark cherry, cedar, licorice, rose petal and spice are beautifully layered in a full-throttle wine loaded with personality. Even with all of its obvious intensity, the 2016 has quite a bit of freshness and lift to play off the distinctly red-fruit leaning profile. The Leopoldina is super-concentrated, but never overly heavy. The Leopoldina Cabernet emerges from Turnbull's Weitz Vineyard in Oakville.

The deep garnet-purple colored 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Leopoldina Vineyard offers a stunning nose of roses, violets and kirsch over a core of cassis, dark chocolate, cigar box and forest floor with a waft of wild thyme. Medium to full-bodied and laden with tightly would black fruit and floral layers, it has a solid line of ripe, grainy tannins and a very long, vivacious finish.
