Mainly from the Sacrashe Vineyard (95%), the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Exzellenz is a 1,000-case selection that raises the bar, quality-wise. Rather than just being dark and rich, it's floral and perfumed, with red berries joined by hints of cedar and menthol. Full-bodied and rich yet fresh and framed by fine-grained tannins, this is a fine Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.

More red and black fruit, spice cabinet, new leather, and dried flower notes all emerge from the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Exzellenz, a more forward, complex, approachable 2021 that still has the vintage's pure, focused, utterly classic style. It's going to be one of the more approachable wines in this lineup, but it will still benefit from 2-4 years in the cellar.
The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Exzellenz is a blend taken from the best blocks at Sacrashe. It captures all the magic of this evocative, elite site, but with an added kick of textural intensity. Dark red plum, kirsch, mocha, licorice, spice and new leather are some of the many notes that build into the substantial finish.
