Score 90-92/100 · Drink 2021-2033, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Dec 2017
The 2016 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Carrieres, which came directly from barrel on the lees, is 100% whole-bunch fruit and there are three barrels this year. The stem addition is very discrete on the nose, lending complexity, the fruit here darker than some of the other Chambolle cuvées from Felettig. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, quite grippy in the mouth, good substance with a masculine, blackberry and bay leaf-tinged finish that leaves a positive impression. This may well surpass the 2015.
