A very early vintage of this barrel selection and made from vines planted around 1989. Quite delicate in texture. A bit dry on the end. A bit cloudy. Hint of cabbage – surely lots of stems? Peppery. Interesting. Chewy end. Stands up to food, I should think. Vigorous and quite burgundian. Neat. But just past its best. (JR)

Bloody, animal nose. More vigour than the regular bottling with lots of life still in it. Maybe just very slightly sickly on the finish. I think I prefer the regular. (JR)
