This was the second vintage that he put on the market under the Sei Solo label, though he had made the wine from 2007. Very dark crimson. This also seems more marked by oak on the nose than the Preludio 2013. More intense and less fragrant. Dry and compact tannins but still full of energy. These are unusual wines, unyielding at this stage but not heavy. The heat shows a little on the finish. (JH)

Moist tobacco, fine tannins, lovely pure black cherry fruit. Not hugely complex – yet has a degree of intrigue that keeps me coming back. Has a sort of subtle, ineffable appeal. (RH)
