The 1999 Barolo Vecchie Vigne is a real beauty today. Round and textured in the glass, the 1999 captures the best of the artisan, modern style prevalent in La Mora during this time. In 1999 the Vecchie Vigne was a blend of fruit from both Giachini and Rocche, so there is less site-specific character, but it is the wine’s pure textural beauty that stands out most. Soft, silky and exceptionally polished, the 1999 impresses for its balance and class. Hints of mocha, espresso, plums and cloves resonate on the finish. At the time, Corino's Vecchie Vigne was made from old-vine parcels within Rocche dell'Annunziata and Giachini.

Dark ruby. The Vecchie Vigne displays an intense, alcoholic nose with notes of sweet toasted oak, vanilla and menthol along with super- ripe fruit in a concentrated style with excellent length. Though not the most complex or complete Barolo in the line-up, it is undeniably a highly enjoyable wine to drink now and over the next decade or so. It is made mostly from the oldest vines at Giachini.
